About the Event

Dekathon 4.0

Dekathon 4.0 is a 3-day Indo-Malaysian design hackathon jointly organized by St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, Chengannur, in association with Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University, and Kerala Startup Mission. The event will take place from January 22-24, 2026, with a central theme of "Sustainable Development Goals: Innovate for a Better Future."
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent a collective commitment to address global challenges such as poverty, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. Dekathon 4.0 provides participants with the platform to :
  • Learn – Engage in expert-led workshops and talks on SDGs and technological solutions.
  • Innovate – Work collaboratively to develop creative solutions for sustainability challenges.
  • Pitch – Present well-structured pitch decks showcasing your innovation.
  • Compete – Win recognition and exciting rewards by impressing a distinguished panel of judges.
Throughout the hackathon, participants will have access to mentors, industry experts, and technical resources to guide them in refining their ideas and preparing impactful presentations.

Hackathon towards A Sustainable Future

Scope of Dekathon 2026

Participants will tackle key sustainability challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dekathon 4.0 presents a unique opportunity for students to innovate solutions that align with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Throughout the hackathon, participants will receive mentorship, access to expert guidance, and resources to develop, refine, and present their ideas. Teams will pitch their solutions to a panel of judges, who will evaluate them based on innovation, feasibility, impact, and entrepreneurial potential.

Terms and Conditions

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate/postgraduate/diploma students from India and Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (UiTM), aged 18 or above.
  • Team Size: Maximum 3 members per team.
  • Restrictions: Team members cannot be organizers, volunteers, judges, or event sponsors.
  • Mentorship: Teams may seek guidance from experts, mentors, and industry professionals.
  • Development: All hackathon activities must take place during the event dates.
  • Agreement: Participants must accept the terms of the hackathon before registering.
